Biology 11

Today we looked at HOW evolution happens by studying Darwin's theory of evolution by means of natural selection.  We took some notes and then read a case study on the peppered moth.  Questions on the peppered moth as well as your paragraphs on the PBS video series are due tomorrow.

Today you should have turned in the worksheet on Evidence for Evolution.

Science 8

Today we practiced designing experiments and writing hypotheses by working in groups of three and designing experiments to answer questions.  We aren't really going to do these experiments, it is just for practice!

Next we stayed with our groups and labelled some microscopes and looked at the parts and functions of some compound light microscopes.  You have two worksheets to complete on the parts and functions.

Science 9

Today we practiced how to determine the number of protons, netrons and electrons in a atom of any element.   Remember that # protons = Atomic #.

Next we looked how to draw Bohr Models showing electrons in their different shells.
Homework: Read page 220-222 Do #1-4 on page 223.
